Der Makita DGA 506 Brushless Akku-Winkelschleifer ist ein sehr handlicher, 18 Volt starker, Li-Ion Akku betriebener Winkelschleifer für Trennscheiben von bis zu 125mm Durchmesser. Die Automatic Speed Control reguliert je nach Anforderung automatisch hohe Drehzahlen für Trennarbeiten oder ein hohes Drehmoment für Schleifarbeiten. Der bürstenlose Motor der Brushless Technology von Makita sorgt für mehr Ausdauer, längere Lebensdauer und ein kompakteres Gehäuse. Der Motor wird außerdem durch einen Überlastschutz geschützt, dazu besitzt der DGA 506 zusätzlich einen Saftanlauf. Der elektronische Strombegrenzer mit Warnlampe ermöglicht eine konstante Anwendung während die Motorbelastung kontrolliert wird. Die integrierte Anlaufsperre verhindert das Starten des Motors wenn der Akku eingesetzt wird und schaltet sich ein, wenn die Kapazität unterschritten ist. Die eXtreme Protection Technology schützt die wichtigen Komponenten der Maschine vor Staub und Spritzwasser. Außerdem ist das Motorgehäuse mit einem eingelegten rutschfesten Gummipolster ausgestattet.
